- Lasso + Refine Edge — most control, best for complex hair or fur
- AI Segmentation — most accurate on photos, overkill for pixel art
Expert Tip
For pixel art, Magic Wand at tolerance=0 with contiguous mode OFF is faster than any AI model.
Colour Tolerance Guide
- 0 — exact colour match. Use for flat fills with no anti-aliasing
- 15-30 — covers JPEG compression artefacts around edges
- 50-80 — good for photos with gradients near the subject edge
